FUNVESA have redesigned its business concept from a casting supplier foundry to a wear solution provider for the mining and aggregate industry. Moving away from commodities towards value added services, it combined products and with cutting edge engineering services.
High technical specialization became mandatory to generate profound changes on the product and the production processes. Field service and technical assessment are essentials to redesign products to last longer or increase performance.

For our foundry to be set apart our products had to reach higher value recognition applying tools and technology such as process simulation softwares to optimize communication processes. The 3D scanning hardware was implemented for reverse engineering and provides fast and accurate drawings, as part of our field service. Once installed our castings are measured to control and forecast of wear rates. Our in-house PLM Product lifecycle management software enables us to register working conditions, wear rate and other variables affecting wear life. This method applies to any industrial process ranging from crushing, milling to material handling among others.

Our current customers in the OEM division in North America and EU account for 20% of total sales. Three consecutive awards were granted to us by the Swiss government through GEA ONG for lowering environmental emission.

Engineering and Manufacturing process

Among the most rewarding experiences was the transformation of an intricate manual handcraft process to become mechanized and automated. The design and execution was made from cero with scarce financial resources , increasing productivity by 40%. Procedures to establish methods for systemic improvement of production processes and products , where the foundations for the creation of the engineering department where R&D was designed and executed.
